A2 Hosting VPS and Shared Hosting Review

However, standard reseller plans can also be upgraded with the 20x faster Turbo option for improved speed but with SSD storage. The Grow plan, at around $28 per month for 36 months, increases storage to 160 GB and data transfer to 1600 GB, allowing you to resell to 90 clients. The standard Kickstart plan starts at about $16 per month respectively for a 36-month subscription. Another set of A2 Hosting plans worth highlighting in our review are the Reseller Packages. These plans include all the features of the standard VPS offerings but are optimized for superior speed using LiteSpeed servers and advanced technologies. This guarantees that you will get up to 20x faster performance than the standard managed VPS plans.

Although the response is generally fast it is never complete and does not address all the issues reported. The support team gave a swift response to my issues. They only give support by “Tickets”, and have clearly said that they cannot give telephonic support or by remote igaming-hosting.xyz connections to my machine so that we can resolve issues. We dialed the local India support number but no one responds; all we hear is their irritating IVRS which blabbers a lot and then gets disconnected. This is the 11th day of our purchase and we’ve not been able to get any satisfactory resolution for our issues. They’re not even able to solve simple database issues for their PostgreSQL hosting.

The Performance Plus blurb describes it as an option when it’s a standard feature. Other issues with hosting.com’s website make it less than transparent — too. Here, I suppose it refers to hosting.com’s cloud-based servers with LiteSpeed. The Optimized plugin helps you to fine tune your WordPress settings and then makes suggestions on how you can continue to improve performance. When I first started building WordPress sites, I had no idea how to make them load faster or what settings I could tweak to improve performance without “breaking” something. The second is that according to support — it’s possible you’ll lose your WordPress site if you replace the custom control panel with cPanel.

DDoS protection helps block traffic-based attacks, and dual firewalls filter out malicious requests before they even reach your site. I enabled SSL with a single click from cPanel, which secured data between my site and visitors. Advanced users get SSH access and tools like WP-CLI for WordPress command-line management. The CDN setup is automatic and takes almost no effort, so even beginners can handle it. I’ve tracked uptime across multiple sites over several months.

A2 Hosting Uptime and Response Times

The truth is, most budget hosting providers can only do so much when it comes to performance. Site speed is a hot topic—especially when you’re shopping for affordable web hosting. My old hosting provider couldnt even run a joomla quick install for a 2nd site plus poor support. As a software engineer, I do not feel safe hosting my work through A2 Hosting. A lot of extras are included with hosting account. Customer service is very fast to answer questions and fix problems.

Learn the key pros — cons and alternatives to this web hosting provider. My HostGator review is based on professional experience and reader reviews. A2 Hosting is not good if you are turned off by upsells (offers), cluttered interfaces, or a higher price point than other hosts. Nothing outside the norm — but something to factor in if you already know some of the services you’re looking for.

Our review of A2 hosting for WordPress revealed that a managed WordPress hosting plan results in the automatic installation of WordPress as the sole CMS on your server. If you opt for management software other than cPanel — there might be a service fee of $25 to consider. The reason A2 is impressive lies in its ability to modify server settings to handle unexpected traffic spikes.
